Bit O' Summer

Family filled summer days.
Great Grandpa with great granddaughter Lydia.

Elyse's beautiful new birthday dress
and her after the rain hairdo.

Ice cream with sprinkles and whipped cream.
(Someone else got caught in the rain.)

A surprise shower and a full rainbow catches everyone
off-guard; including Elyse. Both were a welcome sight.

Yes, girls like ATVs too as you can
see by granddaughter Samantha's big grin.
(I was overruled when it came to letting the
girls operate this motorized "toy.")

  2. Looks like some wonderful family fun. And what's wrong with you? If an ATV is good enough for the males, it's certainly good enough for the females! Sheesh!

Great Grandpa looks about my age. I'll bet he's having fun. I'll bet he's also getting tired! :-)

  3. Lowell: I absolutely agree with you regarding ATV but this was the first time my granddaughters operated one and I wasn't sure if they were quite old enough (especially the youngest).

  4. I was just kidding you! ATVs are actually rather dangerous. Our daughter and her husband ride them in Colorado and sometimes we get a bit frightened when we find out where they take them to ride: narrow trails, huge drop-offs, etc. :-)

  5. Wow, you really captured the essence of Summer here! It's so beautiful. Even if the grass is a bit brittle :/

  6. I just have to mention that the blue helmet is probably 30 years old and worn by these children's parents when riding cycle with dad (now known as Grandpa)! Fun day - glad we could share it with you and (Great)Grandma & Grandpa.

  7. Stephanie: Ah, yes, the blue helmet. . . a national treasure.
