I may be contributing to hummingbird obesity. There have been two hanging around this summer and they are gluttons for red sugar water.
A Route of Evanescence
(The Humming-Bird)
by Emily Dickinson
A route of evanescence
With a revolving wheel;
A resonance of emerald,
A rush of cochineal;
And every blossom on the bush
Adjusts its tumbled head, --
The mail from Tunis, probably,
An easy morning’s ride.

We had to stop hanging the sugar water feeders because it attracted ants, ants, ants. Now we use red flowers to lure the hummingbirds.
ReplyDeleteI love your bookshelf choices! Ruby Holler looks great there, but I'm also re-reading Twyla Tharp's book now!
